Uphoff Seed Sales
Although row crops are the main focus of the farm, there are other services that are brought to the table if you work with Doug and Elliott. Uphoff Seed Sales was established in 1995 when Doug and Duane started selling Asgrow seed which is was from the parent company Monsanto. Soon after both Dekalb and Asgrow seed were sold and are now sold by Elliott. Bayer, previously known as Monsanto, is well known for bringing the best technology to the industry and offer proprietary seed where many other brands simply buy technology from Bayer. Uphoff Seed Sales is also a Climate Fieldview dealer. Climate is an in cab system which allows all of the farms data to be stored in one place and also has imagery which shows stress areas in the growing crop. Along with seed, Elliott offers Dust which is a talc seed treatment replacement made from Soybeans.

Planting and Yield Technology

Usable data is very important to making decisions the our farm. While there are many ways to capture data, not all provide the same clarity when it comes to analyzing the finished product. For this reason we use Precision Equipment as the data capturing source. The planter is currently set up with Precision Electric VDrive and Vset seed meters in order for the planter to get the best singulation and spacing while still being up to drive fast enough to get the job done in a timely manner. With this set up, the operator can change seed population with a flip of the switch. It also gives the ability to have no overlap on end rows and point rows which saves money and adds yield.
The next step is yield data. The combine is equipped with Precision Yield Sense elevator chain which is a self calibrating yield system that provides the best resolution and quality of yield data. That is paired with Climate Fieldview in the cab which allows the operator to see data and analyze it the second the grain is through the combine. Yield can be sorted by soil type, hybrid, farm, and even by planter pass.

Drone Technology
This is satellite imagery from Climate which shows where we sprayed fungicide on this field this summer. The 5 acre square was sprayed by a drone with fungicide by a company called Rantizo.

Our farm also has a drone for scouting fields, but it also is used for entertainment purposes like the video below.

Look at the quality of yield data difference between AgLeader (Left 2017) and Yieldsense (Right 2019). The lag of data in Agleader never had one pass matching up to the next so there would be a streaky appearance which makes it hard to interpret any of the data. Also Yieldsense data flows seemlessly into Climate.
